Pendahuluan

Ada berbagai cara untuk menentukan daya dukung tanah, salah satu diantaranya adalah melakukan pengetesan dengan alat sondir. Alat ini mempunyai standar luas penampang sebesar 10 cm2, sudut puncak 60°, dan luas selimut 150 cm2 (di Indonesia 100 cm2). Kecepatan penetrasi 2 cm/detik (standar ASTM D411-75T).
